Crucible materials

  • Aluminium Oxide (Al2O3). 
  • Beryllium Oxide (BeO). 
  • Graphite. 
  • Molybdenum. 
  • Pyrolytic boron nitride (PBN). 
    • Aluminium – cold-lip crucible designed to prevent material creep. A double-walled crucible allows re-melting after unintentional solidification of the source material.  
  • Pyrolytic graphite (PG). 
  • Pyrolytic boron nitride (PBN)  coated pyrolytic graphite (PG). 
    • Gallium – PG-coated bottleneck design allows a lower deposition temperature. 
  • Tantalum. 
  • Tungsten. 
  • Special crucible (for Titanium) – allows deposition of Titanium above the melting point up to 2000°C. 
  • Vitreous/Glassy carbon.
