By end of last year DCA Instruments delivered a unique Molecular Beam Epitaxy system (equipped with a UHV Multi-Pocket Electron-Beam Evaporator, several Effusion Cells and an Atom Source) to the research group of Stefano Sanguinetti and colleagues at the Bicocca Department of Materials Science, Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca in Italy. The installation into the lab was smooth and completed within a few days. Thanks also to our local support partners DISTEK STRUMENTI & MISURE SRL and Alex Zanolin.
🔬 Designed for the deposition of functional materials, oxide and nitride thin films and nanostructures in ultra-high vacuum with atomic-layer precision, this system opens new opportunities to study complex heterostructures, quantum materials, and advanced electronic and spintronic devices on up to 2” (50mm) substrates. This dual chamber research-grade system is tailored to push the boundaries of quantum materials science.
💡 M450 MBE Chamber Highlights:
- Substrate heating up to 1100°C in Ultra High Vacuum
- UHV Multipocket E-Beam Evaporator with 4x15cc capacity for the deposition of low vapor pressure materials (Nb, B, Ti, W)
- Effusion cells 23cc to 40cc for high-quality layer growth (Al, Ga, In)
💡 E300 MBE Chamber Highlights:
- Substrate heating up to 1100°C in Ultra High Vacuum
- Effusion cells 13 cc for high-quality layer growth (Cu, Ga)
