DCA Instruments Oy respects our clients’ and website visitor’s privacy and the security of their personal data. The collected personal data is used, processed and protected according to applicable laws and EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By continuing to use DCA’s website and services, you acknowledge having read and agreed to this privacy policy.
Collecting personal data and purposes of use
DCA collects and processes personal data of the website visitors and clients when they request additional information or quotations of DCA’s products or ordering DCA’s services. The personal data may include:
- Name and basic contact information sent to DCA from website contact form
- Your request and communication with DCA
- Order information including your organization, billing information, meeting minutes and other relevant information
- Website statistics obtained with cookies and similar technologies
- Recruitment information, job applications and CV’s
Personal data is used for following purposes:
- Managing and developing customer relationship
- Developing services and products
- Answering requests
- Managing invoices and payments
- Recruiting new employees
- Maintaining and optimizing the website
- Marketing our products and services
DCA has a legitimate interest in collecting and processing personal data to use it for aforementioned purposes. For using website cookies and marketing DCA asks for consent, but for answering the clients’ orders and such it is contractual necessity to process personal data. For managing payments, it is legal obligation. DCA obtains this data when clients send requests via email or contact form. The data could be received also from reliable public sources or from DCA’s other clients.
Personal data is also collected from website visitors via cookies and Google Analytics which DCA uses to improve the website, browsing experience and marketing. Website visitor has always possibility to decline or accept cookies which are not necessary for the website to function.
Protecting personal data
DCA considers all personal data to be confidential. Adequate technical and organizational measures are taken to protect your personal data and to prevent unauthorized access to it. Access to personal data is limited only to those DCA’s employees, contractors and service providers who need to process the personal data as a part of their duties.
DCA does not transfer your personal data to a third party without your permission. With your permission your personal data may be shared with our trusted partners if processing your request requires to do so. Exceptions are providing necessary information to logistics service providers and partners necessary processing and fulfilling quotations and orders. Exceptions are made also when it would be necessary for protecting DCA’s, its website users’ and/or public’s rights, property or safety.
DCA retains personal data for a reasonable period of time, not exceeding any legal requirements or limitations. Order and billing information is retained at least 6 years (Finnish accounting law 1997/1336 § 10). Preservation of other personal information is reviewed every two years. Personal data will be deleted when it is legally allowed, it is no longer required for DCA’s operations and when the rights holder requests to do so.
In case of data breaches, the DCA will notify all relevant authorities and the data subjects within 72 hours if their data has been at risk.
Transfer of data outside of the European Economic Area
DCA may transfer your information in and out of the European Union and European Economic Area. In such cases DCA applies applicable transfer mechanisms and contractual safeguards, e.g. EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses, to ensure an appropriate level of security for your personal information as required by data protection laws.
Your rights
Within the limits of applicable data protection legislation, you have the following rights to your personal data:
- Request access to your personal data and obtain it in a structured commonly used format.
- Request DCA to correct or complete inaccurate personal data.
- Request to delete your personal data.
- Object and request a restriction of processing your personal data or transferring it to another controller.
- Prohibit DCA from sending newsletters or other marketing messages to you.
- Withdraw consent for using processed personal data.
Send any requests regarding your rights to your personal data via email to privacy@dca.fi or info@dca.fi.
Data protection laws in Finland are supervised by the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutettu in Finnish). You can contact the Data Protection Ombudsman’s office as instructed at tietosuoja.fi, if you consider that your personal data has been processed in an ill manner against legislation.

- Functional cookies of dca.fi. Technical storage or access is necessary for a legitimate purpose that enables the use of a service specifically requested by a particular subscriber or user, or solely for the transmission of communications via network.
- Youtube: visitor information, privacy metadata and an ID for marketing due videos embedded in the web pages and when Youtube link is followed.
- LinkedIn: visitor ID and privacy metadata for marketing purposes when LinkedIn link is followed. DCA doesn’t receive data on individual LinkedIn users.
- Statistic cookies of dca.fi. Technical storage or access used exclusively for anonymous statistical purposes. Absent a subpoena, voluntary consent from your ISP, or additional third-party records, information stored or retrieved solely for this purpose generally cannot be used to identify you.
- Google Analytics for tracking and reporting website traffic and web page interactions for marketing purposes.
